The snowmaking system at Diamond Peak Ski Resort went through substantial improvements this summer. The purpose of the approximately $1mil investment was to increase the air capacity of the existing system while saving electricity. With the new and improved snowmaking system, Diamond Peak will be able to make snow more efficiently and cover the trails faster than before, resulting in 50% increased capacity. 'With this improved snowmaking system, we can capitalize on the short time period we have to make snow and cover our trails in less time thus saving money on electricity"  - said Ed Youmans, General Manager of Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Another change at the mountain this year has to do with age groups for our products. We have changed our age group from 7-12 to 7-14 to be more in line with the school system for our groups and to truly stand behind the image of a kid friendly ski resort. This year, people purchasing any product for their 13 and 14 years old will see dramatic savings compared to the previous season. A brand new product at Diamond Peak is the Holiday Season Pass. When other resorts black out their passes during the holidays, Diamond Peak lets you ski all 28 holiday dates for $249. This pass is ONLY valid during the following holiday dates: Dec. 19, 2009-Jan. 3, 2010, Jan 16-18, 2010 and Feb. 13-21, 2010. Purchase this pass for $249, and save money and time during the holiday season.  This pass makes a great gift for friends and relatives. Ski when the kids are out of school, not just when your season pass allows. Diamond Peak has also lowered the prices of some of its most popular products to help our customers spend more time on their favorite mountain. Our very popular program 'Bring a Season Pass from another resort in the US valid for 2009/10 season and ski/ride all day for $25" saw a decrease of $10 from last year. Our signature event Last Tracks, wine tasting and appetizers après ski party at our mid-mountain lodge at the end of the day complimented by sunset viewing over the lake and a freshly groomed run down the base area is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. Last Tracks price for 2009/10 season is $29 (9% decrease from last year). A brand new program for the season is our Buy 3 Get the 4th Free program valid for both ski and snowboard schools - Child Ski Center (ages 3- 7) and Ski & Snowboard School (ages 7+). The program calls for purchasing 3 lessons or packages upfront and receiving the 4th one free (of the same or lesser value). Diamond Peak also has lots of fun special events planned this year with a new Jiblet Series, our 10th Annual Dummy Downhill, 2 Learn to Ski & Ride weeks with all inclusive packages of $29,  and Diamond Peak Go Lil'  or Go Home Festival.
